Instagram launches collage-making app for iOS users ;

Instagram released a collage making stand-alone app called Layout. Currently the app is only available to iOS users. The photo sharing app, Instagram, is owned by Facebook and it seems Facebook is wanting to expand further by introducing more applications that seamlessly integrate with its already-popular application.
The unique feature of this app is that it automatically generates a collage as you select images. "When you open Layout, we automatically show you previews of custom layouts as you chose photos from your camera roll," Instagram said in an online post introducing Layout. The app allows a total of nine images to feature in one collage.
With different layouts available the user can choose whatever she/he considers better for the collage. Instagram believes that most of the collages shared on its app are of people clicking selfies so the app uses the face recognition technology in the iOS to suggest relevant images.
The app also comes with a Photo Booth feature that will take numerous images in succession and then create a collage of the pictures automatically. This feature is already available on various third-party apps but the seamless integration with Instagram and quality of collages produced should help the Layout app to stand out.
Instagram has not mentioned a specific date for the launch of the new collage-making app on Android but has confirmed that Android devices should get the app in the coming months.
