Anti-corruption crusader and Gandhian activist Anna Hazare will not be attending Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal's swearing-in ceremony at the Ramlila Grounds in New Delhi on Saturday. Hazare had skipped Kejriwal's swearing-in when he became Delhi chief minister for the first time in 2013.Kejriwal, who has often called Hazare his "guru" - he once said Anna "lived in my heart" - sought the Gandhian's blessings and personally invited him to attend the ceremony. The octogenarian leader had on Tuesday congratulated Kejriwal for his party's spectacular performance in Delhi Assembly polls.
"I extend my best wishes to Kejriwal," Anna told reporters in Ralegan Siddhi in Maharashtra. He also urged the AAP convenor, a former Team-Anna member, not to forget his struggle for the Jan Lokpal Bill and take it forward.
"Public's parliament is bigger than any government. They have given their mandate," Hazare said.
