Jat quota stir: Haryana CM ML Khattar, 2 other ministers summoned to Delhi...

Haryana Chief Minister ML Khattar alongwith state agriculture minister OP Dhankar and state finance minister Captain Abhimanyu have been summoned to Delhi to meet Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister M.  Venkaiah Naidu to deliberate on the issue of reservation for Jats in education and jobs.
Here are the latest updates:
  • Khattar along with OP Dhankar and Captain Abhimanyu have left for Rohtak  to take stock of the situation in the town.
  • Venkaiah Naidu has called Khattar for deliberations to ascertain the state's views on the subject.
  • Delhi-Chandigarh Highway which was blocked by protesters, has been cleared now.
  • Sonipat Deputy Commissioner has directed the government & private schools, colleges in the area to remain closed till February 24.
  • Munak canal has been partially repaired and water supply to delhi is expected to be fully restored today.
The Chief Minister has been appealing to the people of the state to maintain law and order and call off the agitation, as the state government was ready to hear their demands."No one will be benefited by damaging public property. I urge everyone not to be swayed by unfounded rumours and maintain peace in the state," he said in his appeal earlier.
