The caterer of the New Delhi-Amritsar Shatabdi Express has been slapped with a fine of Rs.1 lakh for serving tea in the cups with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah's photos on them.
In a reply to a question raised by PR Sentilnathan, Anwhar Raajha of AIADMK and Asaduddin Owaisi of MIM in the Parliament, MoS for Railways Manoj Sinha said, "The contractor has been asked to give an explanation and has been imposed a fine of Rs.1 lakh."
Use of paper cups with photographs of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President Amit Shah to serve tea to the passengers of Delhi-Amritsar Shatabdi train has created furore, prompting Indian Railway to order probe into the matter.
