The buzz around the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S6 is really starting to heat up. Of course, this is nothing new as this happens every year. According to a report by South Korean website Ddaily, the Galaxy S6 could have a glass back like the iPhone 4 or some of the Sony Xperia models.
Earlier reports indicated that the phone will sport a metal frame, which also leaked during CES. Now, an unnamed Samsung executive claims that the phone will instead sport a glass back and will not have a metal frame.
Perhaps, the company is trying to differentiate the Galaxy S6 from its other products as many Samsung phones now have a metal frame. Products in the Galaxy A line now have a metal frame, in addition to the Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Alpha.
Another report from South Korea claims that the Galaxy S6 could come with 4GB RAM. Considering the Asus ZenFone 2 already packs that much of RAM, it will not be surprising for the Galaxy S6 to have that much of RAM. Samsung has always loaded its phones in terms of features and the Galaxy Note 3 and 4 have 3GB RAM.
Other specs of the phone include either the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core 64-bit processor or the Samsung Exynos 7420 chipset. Reportedly, the device will flaunt a 5.5-inch QHD display, and 20-megapixel camera on the back and a 5-megapixel camera on the front.
The phone is expected to run on Android 5.0 Lollipop along with a new version of Samsung's TouchWiz UI.
There are also reports that there will be an edge version of the Galaxy S6, like the Note 4. However, this time around the Galaxy S6 could have a curved display on both sides instead of a single curved side meaning that it will be usable for both right and left handed users.
The Galaxy S4 and S5 were disappointing releases from Samsung. But the Galaxy S6 is shaping up to be a hero phone in the truest sense, now only time will tell if all these rumours come to fruition.
